Watehoppers diving centre fully operational 54" twin-lock decompression chamber which was installed in January 1994,is at the Waterhoppers Office in Ipsos, and is the only one on the island.
The waterhoppers scuba diving centre has now been operating since 1979, with another centre on the island of Rhodes. Over the past twenty years they have taken approximately half a million people scuba diving - both experienced and inexperienced.
Throughout these years waterhoppers has gained a reputation for their high standard of teaching scuba diving and above all, scuba diving safety. All equipment is regularly inspected and replaced where necessary ensuring that it is always in a safe condition. The centre's instructors are fully qualified dive medics, taking regular refresher courses and keeping up to date with new technologies.
Costas, James and Panagiotis have completed the Diving Chamber Operator Course. They are qualified paramedics and diving medical technicians and the centre has Hyperbaric centre status.
Medically trained staff are present at all diving sessions, so that in the unlikely event of an accident, the diver can receive immediate treatment.
They have two high speed boats - travelling at a speed of 35 knot's, each seating 25 people, which are used to take clients to the dive site. The site is situated on the northeast coast of Corfu. The site is a very picturesque location with crystal clear waters. There are showers, toliets, sun beds to rent and 'Yanny's Beach Taverna' for that very important lunch.
If you dont find Yanny in the taverna, you may find him mending his fishing nets under the cool shade of the taverna in readyness for another nights fishing!

Daily Programme |
The boat leaves Ipsos daily at 10.00am, the journey takes approx 20 minutes. On arrival at the dive site experienced divers are given the days programme, and the inexperienced divers recieve a lecture introducing them to scuba diving. All guests are given a medical questionnaire to complete and any queries arising can be discussed with Costas or James or Panagiotis on site.
Beginners dive from the shore in small groups of five or six people. The dive will last for approx twenty minutes and they will be accompanied by at least four qualified instructors. For experienced divers, the depth of a dive will depend on the qualifications held.
Re-dives and under-water photographs are available if wanted, please let the instructor know once you are kitted up and ready to go scuba diving.
Mondays the office is closed!
Every one needs a day off.....................
